Immunity can be defined as the ability of an organism to resist or eliminate potentially harmful foreign organisms and material or abnormal cells. The immune system is designed for combating infections and toxic agents. The loss of immunological tolerance is characterized by increasing reactivity to foodstuffs, allergy, sensitivity, and many levels of the reactions in between. Other signs of immune compromise include inflammatory disease such as arthritis and IBD, skin conditions, chronic fatigue, neurodevelopmental conditions, diabetes, and/or cardiovascular disease.
